Ticonderoga. Janice Marie Carpenter, 56, of Ticonderoga, passed away suddenly on Sunday, April 19, 2015, at her residence.
Born in Fair Haven, Vermont, May 13, 1958, she was the daughter of the late Arnold O. and Doris (Libby) Reed.
Janice was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Janice enjoyed cooking and baking, especially her donuts.
She was a strong willed woman, who was always there for anyone in need.
She loved the outdoors and camping and barbecues with family. She loved playing games, especially Yahtzee and Candy Crush.
She is survived by her husband, Terry John Carpenter; her four children, Katherine Schwarz and her husband, William of Athol, Gary E. LaRock, Jr. and his wife, Jessica of Texas, Brenda Walker and her husband, Alan of Ticonderoga, and McTavish J. LaRock of South Glens Falls; two sisters, Rev. Francetta Tice of Wells, Vermont, and Barbara Wilkinson and her husband, Barry of Rutland, Vermont; and her mother-in-law, Ann Bennett of Ticonderoga; 15 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her dog, Sofy.
In addition to her parents, she was pre-deceased by two sisters, Tammy Lawrence and Doris “Doty” Reed; two brothers, Arnold Reed, Jr. and Donald Reed, Sr.; and her former husband and long-time friend, Gary Edward LaRock, Sr.
A Memorial Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 24, 2015, at the Wilcox & Regan Funeral Home, 11 Algonkin St., Ticonderoga. Her sister, Rev. Francetta Tice, will officiate.
